Progesterone (FIA)

Progesterone is often referred to as the pregnancy hormone, and for good reason—its primary role is to prepare and maintain the body for a potential or ongoing pregnancy. Produced mainly by the corpus luteum in the ovaries after ovulation, its importance lies in its ability to transform the uterine lining (endometrium) from a growing state into a receptive, nutrient-rich environment for an embryo to implant.
