A Human Sperm Assay (HSA), more commonly known as a Semen Analysis or Spermogram, is the cornerstone diagnostic test used to evaluate male fertility. It involves a microscopic and macroscopic examination of a semen sample to assess the quantity, quality, and health of sperm.

While a basic analysis looks at the big three (count, movement, and shape), modern labs often include more specialized assays to look at the functional integrity of the sperm.
