Bilirubin Serum

The Serum Bilirubin test is used primarily to evaluate how well your liver is functioning and to check for signs of bile duct obstruction or hemolytic anemia. By measuring the levels of bilirubin—a yellowish pigment created during the normal breakdown of red blood cells—healthcare providers can pinpoint the cause of jaundice (yellowing of the skin and eyes) and monitor neonatal health in newborns.
